Based on my research, roughly 40% of the 3/4 star guys will not contribute. It's not possible to accurately project how these guys will do at the next level on the field or off the field.

Jaden Payoute and Devon Hunter were both top 5 players in VA who haven't made an immediate impact. That doesn't mean they won't eventually contribute BUT a lot of top 5 players show up ready to play. Darrisaw was a three star player who became a first round pick. Marcus Vick was a five star player and we all know how that went.

I always enjoy looking at the articles where they revisit the recruiting rankings five years later. The rankings are not reliable when forty percent of the recruits will not contribute.
